Survivor

from Western Movies by Railtown

about

Back in 2001 I had a little 'cancer scare' . . . 'little' because it turned out to be benign . . . but as a lot of people know, it's a pretty eye-opening experience just to be confronted with one's own mortality. Musically, I was feeling like Waylon Jennings - I think that's because I wanted Waylon's toughness to face this situation. All's well that ends well . . . hmmm, that's a funny thought, because NONE of us are getting out of here alive . . . But I made it through that little experience, stronger and wiser . . . a Survivor!

- Jeffrey Scott Stewart

lyrics

SURVIVOR

I'm a lonely rider
Still, I'm a survivor and I'm not goin' down
I am not pretending
Life is never-ending, but it's not ending now

I know this to be right . . .
What doesn't kill me makes me strong
And I'm way too tough to die
It's gonna be a long, long ride
It's gonna be a long, long, long, long ride

There's no use complaining
If it starts to raining and i'm hungry and cold
I might have been mistaken
But this path I'vetaken is the one that I chose

I know this to be right . . .
What doesn't kill me makes me strong
And I'm way too tough to die
It's gonna be a long, long ride
It's gonna be a long, long, long, long ride

If I had a chance to start over again
I'd prob'ly choose to head straight into the wind

I know this to be right . . .
What doesn't kill me makes me strong
And I'm way too tough to die
It's gonna be a long, long ride
It's gonna be a long, long, long, long ride

'Cause I have the heart to survive

I'm a lonely rider
Still, I'm a survivor and I'm not goin' down
