Does Your Wife Have A Sister?

about

This track may be re-recorded before being added to the finished "Rockability" album.

Written with my friend Craig Lackey during my first year in Nashville and before Craig had moved to Nashville. Craig started in TX, moved to CA, then to TN . . . I started in CA, moved to TN, then to TX . . . kinda funny.

I worried that this might be a little too 'silly' with the rhyme scheme of "sister" and "mister", but it's just a fun, light-hearted rockabilly song. Sometimes music shouldn't be taken so seriously.

Recorded at Martin Music in Nashville.

lyrics

DOES YOUR WIFE HAVE A SISTER?

He jumped up from the bar to get a better view
Of the drop-dead red-head across the room
She wasn't alone and had a ring on her hand
So all he could do was ask her man

Does your wife have a sister? - And if she does
Will you introduce me to her because
I'd love to have a woman like the one you have
Man, I'd give anything to be loved like that
Tell me, mister . . .
Does your wife have a sister?

Little sis' was a blonde and she was a beaut
And she was with her husband and that was strike two
But our boy wasn't ready to give up yet
He turned to the lucky man and said

Does your wife have a sister? - And if she does
Will you introduce me to her because
I'd love to have a woman like the one you have
Man, I'd give anything to be loved like that
Tell me, mister . . .
Does your wife have a sister?

Well there turned out to be a sister three
A cute little brunette and totally free
They fell in love and got married in May
And when the guys get together they laugh and say

Does your wife have a sister? - And if she does
Will you introduce me to her because
I'd love to have a woman like the one you have
Man, I'd give anything to be loved like that
Tell me mister . . .
Does your wife have a sister?

Does your wife have a sister? - And if she does
Will you introduce me to her because
I'd love to have a woman like the one you have
Man, I'd give anything to be loved like that
I’d give anything to be loved like that
I’d give anything to be loved like that
Tell me mister . . .
Does your wife have a sister?
