The World Is Getting Younger

about

PREVIEW. This track will be re-recorded before being added to the finished "Forget-Me-Not" album.

Perspective is everything. This is a song about aging basically. One's relationship to the world changing as we get older and older. And the inevitability of death. All written while I was in my twenties. Hmm . . . I guess I was an old soul even before my body got "old" . . . well, "older"!

Recorded on a four-track cassette recorder in the mid-'80s.

lyrics

THE WORLD IS GETTING YOUNGER

Old men keep telling me, "don't get old"
I believe they mean it
"Go find a fountain of youth and be
made forever young"

But I can't help but change
And the world is getting younger every day

My mom used to say, "open wide,
take your medicine"
but I'm a grown-up now, growing older
and I don't want to be

'Cause I'm afraid of dyin'
But I can't help but change
And the world is getting younger every day
