about

Written with my good buddy Ron Young in Nashville. I always SORT OF picture my hometown of Ventura, California . . . but NOT . . . I guess I just think of Ventura because it IS my hometown. These verses don't really describe Ventura (OR me for that matter). It still feels personal though somehow. Maybe just the universal truths.

lyrics

LOST IN MY HOMETOWN

Walkin' the streets
Watchin' leaves blow in my hometown
Skies are gray
Feels like rain here in my hometown
Storefront windows boarded tight
There must be nothin' left inside

I feel lost in my hometown
Once I knew my way around
Now nothing here seems quite the same
Maybe I'm the one that’s changed
But I feel lost in my hometown

There was a time,
Back in high school in my hometown
I was king,
Knew everything about my hometown
Moved away soon as I could
Thought I’d be leavin’ there for good

I feel lost in my hometown
Once I knew my way around
Now nothing here seems quite the same
Maybe I'm the one that’s changed
But I feel lost in my hometown

Now and then I do go back
But I could never re-live the past
Lost in my hometown
