about

Recorded at Denny Martin Music in Nashville. I know that the fiddle is played by Tim Lorsch . . . unfortunately, I'm not sure who the rest of the musicians are . . . the rest could be all Denny, I just don't recall.

I wrote the song in '96 with my friend Pam O'Daniel, it also appears on "Live Dogs", so obviously, it was part of the repertoire when I was performing with my backing band - The Big Dogs - around Nashville in the late '90s.

lyrics

FROSTBITE

She's drivin' crazy, tryin' to get out of town
It doesn't matter where she's goin' right now
Steam on her windows, her blood's runnin' hot
He was cold and heartless, never thought he'd get caught

She's got frostbite
His love was cold enough to burn
One look into her icy eyes confirms
Frostbite
She's afraid of being touched
Now that she's realized love can hurt so much

Hunger stops her, she wipes the tears from her face
Walks into the diner and pretends she's okay
But when a stranger crosses the room
She cuts him down, it's much too soon

She's got frostbite
His love was cold enough to burn
One look into her icy eyes confirms
She's got frostbite
She's afraid of being touched
Now that she's realized love can hurt so much

Love is a fire you can't control
And where there's smoke you'd think there's a flame
But there's a cloud that comes from dry ice
It looks familiar, but it's not the same

She's got frostbite
His love was cold enough to burn
One look into her icy eyes confirms
Frostbite
She's afraid of being touched
Now that she's realized love can hurt so much

She's got frostbite
She's got frostbite
She's got frostbite
