FORGET-ME-NOT She was young, so was I, on the day that we were married In a sense, we believed we knew it all back then I’m to blame, ‘cause she tried, but we couldn’t stay together It takes two, and I regret we can’t have it all again Love is not like diamonds that never turn to dust Love is not like gold that never turns to rust Precious love is not as strong as I thought Love is like a flower – a small forget-me-not I was gone, miles away, when I heard about my father Really though, I was never close to my old man Still I cried ‘cause I knew I’d never say, Hey dad, I love you All we saved was our pride, and we lost what we could have had Love is not like diamonds that never turn to dust Love is not like gold that never turns to rust Precious love is not as strong as I thought Love is like a flower – a small forget-me-not I still have a lot to learn - I’m just tryin’ to get this right Seems to me all I can do is make the most out of my life Love is not like diamonds that never turn to dust Love is not like gold that never turns to rust Precious love is not as strong as I thought Love is like a flower – a small forget-me-not Written by Jeff Stewart and Bill Warrington Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP) / Bill Warrington Music (BMI)

LOST IN MY HOMETOWN Walkin' the streets Watchin' leaves blow in my hometown Skies are gray Feels like rain here in my hometown Storefront windows boarded tight There must be nothin' left inside I feel lost in my hometown Once I knew my way around Now nothing here seems quite the same Maybe I'm the one that’s changed But I feel lost in my hometown There was a time, Back in high school in my hometown I was king, Knew everything about my hometown Moved away soon as I could Thought I’d be leavin’ there for good I feel lost in my hometown Once I knew my way around Now nothing here seems quite the same Maybe I'm the one that’s changed But I feel lost in my hometown Now and then I do go back But I could never re-live the past Lost in my hometown Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart and Ron Young Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP) / Wild Dreams Publishing (BMI)

THE WORLD IS GETTING YOUNGER Old men keep telling me, "don't get old" I believe they mean it "Go find a fountain of youth and be made forever young" But I can't help but change And the world is getting younger every day My mom used to say, "open wide, take your medicine" but I'm a grown-up now, growing older and I don't want to be 'Cause I'm afraid of dyin' But I can't help but change And the world is getting younger every day Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

TIME TO GROW In all the hearts of little boys and little girls There lies the future of the world Some day when we’re all gone, the children will have grown And they’ll be living on their own They need time to grow Time to change Time to think And they need time to rearrange Time to run Time to fall Time to do And time to do nothing at all Remember when we all were younger than today Only time stood in our way We’re more experienced and wiser than back then But do you still remember when? We needed time to grow Time to change Time to think We needed time to rearrange Time to run Time to fall Time to do And time to do nothing at all In all the hearts of little boys and little girls There lies the future of the world Some day when we’re all gone, the children will have grown And they’ll have children of their own They’ll need time to grow Time to change Time to think And they'll need time to rearrange Time to run Time to fall Time to do And time to do nothing at all They need time to grow Time to change Time to think And they need time to rearrange Time to run Time to fall Time to do And time to do nothing at all Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

LONELY AFTER ME I felt like a man Battered and bruised Was a time in my life when all I did was lose Crumbled and broke I wanted to die Cried myself to sleep with dreams of suicide I thought they named ‘lonely’ after me - A victim of sad reality Imprisoned by what I believed I thought they named ‘lonely’ after me I can’t say just how And I don’t know when But I found the strength and learned to live again I’m doin’ okay Feelin’ just fine Found my peace within and moved on with my life And when I feel ‘lonely’ after me I look inside for what I need Now I know I hold the key When I feel ‘lonely’ after me When I feel ‘lonely’ after me I look inside for what I need Now I know I hold the key When I feel ‘lonely’ after me When I feel ‘lonely’ after me Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

TRAVELIN' BLUES Goin' down the road Goin' down the road To make it to another show Goin' down the road I've got to pay my dues With the travelin' blues I'm gonna sing my songs for people from all around I've got to play my tunes in town after town Some men would love to wear my shoes But every time I say good-bye to you I get the travelin' blues Good-bye to my home Good-bye to my home Sometimes I feel so all alone (When I say) good-bye to my home I live the life I choose But I've got the travelin' blues I'm gonna sing my songs for people from all around I've got to play my tunes in town after town Some men would love to wear my shoes But every time I say good-bye to you I get the travelin' blues I'm gonna sing my songs for people from all around I've got to play my tunes in town after town Some men would love to wear my shoes But every time I say good-bye to you I get the travelin' blues Travelin' blues Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

Jealous 02:59
JEALOUS Who's that man that you're with tonight? Aren't you standing a little too close? I can see that you know him well How do you think that I'm supposed to feel? Seeing you here - Acting that way I'm at a loss - I have nothing to say But, baby, don't look at me right now, don’t look at me right now, don’t look at me right now 'Cause I'm jealous - I don't want you to know I'm jealous - I've tried to let go But I'm jealous - Of whatever it is that you share I wish I was the one standing there - I'm jealous Does he kiss you like I did? Does he make you feel that way? I imagine he does just fine I'm havin' trouble just tryin' to say hello I want to run - I'm hopin' to hide You'll see too much - If you see my eyes So, baby, don't look at me right now, don’t look at me right now, don’t look at me right now 'Cause I'm jealous - I don't want you to know I'm jealous - I've tried to let go But I'm jealous - Of whatever it is that you share I wish I was the one standing there - I'm jealous I'm jealous - I don't want you to know I'm jealous - I've tried to let go But I'm jealous - Of whatever it is that you share I wish I was the one standing there - I'm jealous Who's that man that you're with tonight? Hummingbird 03:09
HUMMINGBIRD Honey, he's just like a hummingbird And you're his favorite flower for now If you look closer you can see his wings Flap a million miles an hour Faster, faster He keeps flyin' And he'll be gone before you know Faster, faster He'll leave you cryin' But I'll be glad to see him go Maybe when he's gone you'll notice me I've been waiting for that day You need someone to depend upon And I'm the kind of guy who stays Faster, faster He keeps flyin' And he'll be gone before you know Faster, faster He'll leave you cryin' But I'll be glad to see him go Honey, he's just like a hummingbird Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

DO YOU THINK OF ME AT ALL? Do you pine for me, like I pine for you? Are you waiting for my call? Do you wonder if I love you still? Do you think of me at all? I was a fool to let you slip away If I was wiser I'd be holding you today Are you biding time till we meet again - thinking of the words you'll say? Do you lie awake through the lonesome night - sorry that you went away? Some day soon we'll be in love again I know we will, and so your heart will mend Do you hold me in your memory? Do you kiss me in your dreams? Am I still the one you're longing for? Does your heart cry out for me? Do you pine for me, like I pine for you? Are you waiting for my call? Do you wonder if I love you still? Do you think of me at all? Do you think of me at all? Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

BETTER LOVE NEXT TIME Have you ever thought about the way two spirits drift apart And lose the feeling of romance? No-one’s to blame in matters of the heart And we’ll both have another chance Better love next time No use cryin’ for what we had Honey, you’ll be fine Just move on, don’t look back There’s nothing we could change now, let’s leave the past behind And with a little luck you’ll find – Better Love Next Time What we might have been wasn’t meant to be Our love story had to end We’ll both find someone, if we still believe We can learn and love again Better love next time No use cryin’ for what we had Honey, you’ll be fine Just move on, don’t look back There’s nothing we could change now, let’s leave the past behind And with a little luck you’ll find – Better Love Next Time Better love next time No use cryin’ for what we had Honey, I’ll be fine I’ll move on, I won’t look back There’s nothing we could change now, let’s leave the past behind And with a little luck I’ll find – Better Love Next Time Written by Allen Sostrin and Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Polygram / Seven Angels / Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

I WAS BETTER OFF I was known to be a man of focus Knew exactly when, where, and why Happy with the life I was livin' Content to be just satisfied I was better off I was better off Before I set my sights on you I was better off I was better off Before I ever even knew what I was missing Now I've had a sudden change of vision My future doesn't seem quite so clear I no longer see the rhyme or reasoning In a life without you here I was better off I was better off Before I set my sights on you I was better off I was better off Before I ever even knew what I was missing I really thought that I had everything Since I met you, I've changed my mind Now that I've realized all that love can bring I wouldn't go back to that time When I was better off I was better off Before I set my sights on you I was better off I was better off Before I ever even knew what I was missing I was better off I was better off Before I ever even knew what I was missing Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart and Kim Barker Copyright Blue Clover Music / Kim Barker

TILL ROSES TURN TO STONE They met at an old-fashioned Fourth of July backyard barbecue From his mom’s garden, he gave her a rose Three years later before Senior Prom at Wilson Falls High School He pinned her corsage and read her a poem Till roses turn to stone And all the stars fall from the sky Till the mountains melt into the sea Then through the longest night You’ll never be alone Till roses turn to stone He’s got a picture of her on their wedding day – the perfect blushing bride Taken just before she threw the bouquet And he still swears that over the years they only had one fight He sent her flowers with a note to say Till roses turn to stone And all the stars fall from the sky Till the mountains melt into the sea Then through the longest night You’ll never be alone Till roses turn to stone He kneels down at her graveside To place a wreath upon the ground Gently touching the roses Carved into the marble now Till roses turn to stone And all the stars fall from the sky Till the mountains melt into the sea Then through the longest night You’ll never be alone Till roses turn to stone Till roses turn to stone Written by Allen Sostrin and Jeffrey Scott Stewart Copyright Polygram / Seven Angels / Blue Clover Music (ASCAP)

WHEN I WAS YOU I see you runnin' for the roses Givin' all you have to give Tryin' too hard to even notice You're headin' straight into the wind Settle in and find your stride It's all so short, enjoy the ride I should know, 'cause I've been in your shoes And I did the same when I was you I'll bet I know just what you're hopin' Use your speed and set the pace But happiness is truly knowing Life is more than just a race Settle in and find your stride It's all so short, enjoy the ride I should know, 'cause I've been in your shoes And I did the same when I was you When I was young my daddy tried to help me see And I ignored him when he said to me Settle in and find your stride It's all so short, enjoy the ride I should know, 'cause I've been in your shoes And I did the same when I was you And I did the same when I was you And I was the same when I was you Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewaert and Heather Larkin Copyright 2008 Blue Clover Music (ASCAP) / LarkMuse Publishing (ASCAP)

THANK YOU, ALEXANDER Thank you, Alexander, for bringing her to me 'Cause it's a long way from California to here in Tennessee But I can hear her sweet voice whisperin' in my ear And there is nothing on this earth that I would rather hear And if we can't be face to face At least it's good to know That when I want to be with her I can always call her on the phone So thank you, Alexander, I need her here right now I couldn't wait another day to be with her somehow She's everything I've wanted, I didn't want to leave But somewhere deep inside I knew I had to chase my dream If we can't be face to face At least it's good to know That when I want to be with her I can always call her on the phone So thank you, Alexander If we can't be face to face At least it's good to know That when I want to be with her I can always call her on the phone So thanks to you, Alexander . . . Wildflowers 04:00
WILDFLOWERS I'm so cold and it's dark as night It's gettin' hard to breathe I've been screamin' with all my might And scratchin' until my fingers bleed Carly Sue, won't you come find me How I miss your kiss right now And the way we swayed together With the wildflowers all around With skin so warm and lips so sweet Her love was all I craved And I lived for the times we'd meet Alone in our special secret place Carly Sue, won't you come find me How I miss your kiss right now And the way we swayed together With the wildflowers all around Her husband was a jealous soul And had a right to be Brought his friends and enough hemp rope To hang us from the nearest trees Carly Sue, won't you come find me How I miss your kiss right now And the way we swayed together With the wildflowers all around Now I'm so cold and it's dark as night It's gettin' hard to breathe I've been screamin' with all my might And scratchin' until my fingers bleed And scratchin' until my fingers bleed Written by Jeffrey Scott Stewart and Carmen Melton Taylor Copyright Blue Clover Music (ASCAP) / Awesome Musings Publishing (BMI)

about

This is a PREVIEW. This album will be updated and re-recorded before being "finished".

The album is about relationships, whether family relationships, romantic relationships or relationships to the world.

The album cover photo is of the back of my grandpa Stewart's tenor banjo, which I use all the time. I love this wood inlay and I wanted to preserve it in another way. I thought that it was fitting as the cover of "Forget-Me-Not".
